3-day ‘career’ summit

Continuing its efforts with the goal of providing its students and graduates with the best job opportunities, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) organized a three-day Career Fair with the participation of 76 companies and 200 human resources managers. Approximately 7 thousand young people, who attended the fair, had the chance to meet companies operating in various sectors such as technology, textiles, healthcare, communication, and tourism, conduct face-to-face private interviews, and leave their resumes. Young people, who had the opportunity to easily meet with the brands they dreamed of working or interning for on campus, laid the foundation for new career opportunities.
‘MOCK INTERVIEW’ ADDED EXPERIENCE
Within the scope of the fair, which was co-organized by IUE Career Guidance Center and Alumni Relations Office exclusively for university members, a ‘Mock Interview’ was also held to provide students with a real job interview experience. Young people, who are expected to graduate and enter work life soon, gained special information about what to pay attention to in a job interview by meeting with professional human resources managers.
"DETERMINED DILIGENTLY"
Özge Kulaçoğlu, Coordinator of IUE Alumni Relations Office, pointed out that the fair was held with great enthusiasm and excitement, and stated that the companies also left the university satisfied. Stating that they expanded the scope of the fair this year and were very diligent in the process of determining the companies, Kulaçoğlu said that they saw the positive reflections of this throughout the fair.
“ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY FOR COMPANIES”
Expressing that they will continue to organize the fair in the coming years, Kulaçoğlu said, “Our students and graduates discovered new career opportunities by meeting with employers from different sectors, obtained information about internship and job opportunities, and expanded their professional networks thanks to the fair. The fair was also an opportunity for companies who wanted to quickly reach the qualified workforce they are looking for and strengthen their teams with young minds. Following the fairs in previous years, many young people started working in the companies they dreamed of. I believe that this year's fair will be the same. I thank all the companies, our students and graduates who participated in our fair.”
