5 days of ‘theater’ excitement

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will host art enthusiasts at a 5-day Theater Festival full of joy and entertainment. The festival, where, in addition to IUE, theater clubs from Ege University, Dokuz Eylül University, and Atılım University will showcase their performances, will be held from April 21–25 and will be open to the public free of charge. As part of the festival, an exemplary social responsibility project will also take place, with book donations being collected for children aged 8–12. Guests will be able to contribute to this meaningful solidarity by bringing books with them when attending the festival. The books collected through this project, carried out in cooperation with the Konak District Directorate of National Education, will be sent to schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education to support the education of students in need.

The IUE Theater Club will kick off the festival on April 21 with the play ‘Sevgili Doktor’ (The Good Doctor). On April 22, Ege University’s Creative Drama and Improvisational Theater Group (EYDOT) will perform an Improvisational Theater Show. WE'RE EXCITEDLY AWAITING THE CURTAIN TO RISE
Sinemis Eser Akaoğlu, IUE’s Art Coordinator, stated that they will continue to bring the people of Izmir together with various events throughout the year as part of the ‘Art on Campus’ project. Noting that they’ve prepared a very special and enjoyable program for this year’s third edition of the festival, Akaoğlu reminded that they will once again collect books as they did in previous years. Inviting everyone to join the festival by bringing books with them, Akaoğlu said, “At our festival, we will witness our students’ incredible performances and embark on an unforgettable five-day artistic journey. We’ve completed all preparations for the festival and are eagerly awaiting the curtain to rise. We invite all art enthusiasts to our campus to share in the joy and beauty of theater together.”
